Merry Christmas 2011

Christmas went very smoothly here at the Haynes Household. Everyone seemed happy with what they got for x-mas. No one fought and we ate yummy Chinese food at Wong's for Christmas Eve dinner. On Christmas day we went to see "We bought a Zoo" it was a great movie and then had a yummy Turkey dinner. We are ready to move into the new year with positive attitudes, new goals and new adventures.
Merry Christmas to all!!

My Baby is growing up!!

I hate when I have to realize how much my kids are growing up! Especially the baby of the house. He has been getting so grown up for awhile but lately I have really noticed it. He talks football and knows his stuff, He plays with his big brother Bear and his friends and can hang with them. The things he says just blow me away.
Rhett is my snuggler loves to lay with me, loves to come get in bed with us in the middle of the night, Always hugs and yells out "I Love You" as he runs into school. well he is starting to go lay in his own bed without Geno making him and says Mom I need to go get in my bed now!! I just want to grab him and yell nooo don't grow up. Just stay little and need me forever!!
Sometimes I love he is so grown up but the reality is that everyday he gets more and more grown up!!
Well I love you either way Rhett!! Forever and Always!!

Haynesenberger X-mas tree Hunt Adventure!!

For Thanksgiving weekend we went up to Greer AZ to a place called
Snowy Mountain. We went with our friends The Rosenbergers. It was so fun!! We stayed in a cabin that had a hot tub right outside the front door. We went hunting for our x-mas tree and found a great one with a little birds nest in it.. The kids had such a great time they loved looking for the trees and then we ate yummy chili out in the snow, then the kids went sledding. There is this awesome lodge up there. The people who own the place are some of the kindest people you could meet. they have the place decorated so cute and they have a room just for the kids. They open at night but the kids got to go in early and play and then Pat and Dick (the owners) had them sit up at the Bar and have Hot cocoa and french fries. Great memories were made and a tradition has started.
Thank you Rosenbergers for inviting us. We Love you!!
Here is our tree!!

Malibu Marathon

I did it!! My 2Nd Marathon on Sunday Nov 13. It was in Malibu Ca. So very beautiful there I just loved it.

Malorie, Dana and I drove up for the weekend and had a really fun time. How can you not when women get together we talked and laughed constantly and ate yummy food. The Marathon itself was a challenge. Some inclines and declines along the Pacific Coast Highway. It was beautiful to run along the ocean the way we did. My 1 challenge was not having enough nutrition. My body needs more than GU and water for 5hrs. In the end we made it! I am very happy I did both my marathons and as of now I don't have anymore planned!! I say never again but you never know what will pop up next year. For now my 1/2 and relays are what I am concentrating on..
The day before picking up our bibs and seeing the ocean. The morning of the race Mal had to take us to the start line. Mile 13 half way! Coming in at the finish line 5:29:50
12.35 minute mile

Az Urban Race!

This last Sat I did an event with my friend Stephanie. It was a 5k with 10 obstacles. The

obstacles were things like barricades to climb over, a wall to go over, a semi-truck we crawled through with sandbags, stadium stairs to go up and down and a couple bear crawl stuff and the end was two police cars we had to go over.

We did it pretty quick 29minutes for everything. Then we ate some yummy breakfast at Wildflower bread company. It was a fun morning..

Just for us to remember!!

I just wanted to write down a few things my kids do so I can remember:

Bear: "You know...Safety pins aren't so safe!!"
Rhett: "Mom today I got hit with a softball and You know..Softballs aren't so soft!"

Rhett: Dad today I was watching T.V and a Dr said he can make your S-E-X (spelled out) better!
Geno: "Rhett we don't talk about things like that!"
Rhett: "Well Dad he is a Dr!!"

Malorie and Deshawn having a fight and wanting me to fix it
Mal: Mom! I told you I would give him another chance and here he is screwing up in our house!!!!
(Deshawn sits with head down like a small boy) No Comment!
Gotta love teenage fights.

Fall Break

Fall Break

Baking Day

We had Fall break last week so you know what that means: Entertaining!!

So we decided to start off with a pumpkin patch. Now its a Very different here in Az. We are used to bundling up and going out in the crisp cool air and finding big pumpkins and then going to get Hot Cocoa and/or Coffee. Well here we wear tank tops and shorts walk in the dirt to get our pumpkins and go find water or Iced tea after (: Ha Ha! We did have fun though.

We decided to have a baking day and made some yummy treats for us and our friends.

We also went and saw Real Steel. We really liked that movie. I cried at the end and it made me want to have boxing lessons.

It was a great week and I wasn't ready to give my kids back to school or go back to work.

We are settling back in getting ready for Halloween, and I have some runs coming up. (Cali here we come) Yippee!!

2 lost teeth and some catching up..

I can finally write on my blog again. My Computer would kick me off every time I tried.Anyways its been so long I don't know where to start so I thought with the very latest and go from there.

Rhett lost his 2Nd front tooth last night and now has no front teeth. No more baby front teeth in our house. It actually makes me sad. I feel so old my kids are getting so grown up.Lets see what else.... Bear turned 11 a couple of weeks ago. We took him to Hibachi Grill. Then Geno took him to a Arena football game.

Malorie got her own car (yippee) So nice to not have to share.

We have a new member of the family, his name is Bentley he is a black lab and oh SO cute. We all just love him. Also kids are back to school Malorie is a senior, Bear is in 5Th grade and Rhett in 2Nd. It is so hot here that it is good to be back in school and not sitting home.

WILDLIFE WORLD ZOO AND AQUARIUM!

This weekend we went to the Zoo just the 5 of us. It was a lot of fun and everyone got along (amazingly). I watched how they all wanted to show each other something and the relaxed look on Mal's face she said at one point "Thanks for this day I needed it." Last night as I looked at the calender for this week I appreciated going even more. Every night there is something to do and everyone going in every different directions. Every ones life's are so busy all the time, it was great having my Family close to me. At dinner we started talking about how Mal will be 18 in LESS than 2 years!! I wanted to burst in tears that means going away to college maybe marriage. I watch her get older everyday and love this age but now I want it to stop! I don't want a grown daughter I need some magic pill to slip in her drink to freeze time(: !

The boys too, the things they say it makes you stop for a second and realize Yup that came out of your child's mouth. At least we can still have a day like this weekend here and there.

Homecoming Part 1

On Monday I took Malorie shopping for her Homecoming dress. Malorie has not been interested in going to the dances up until now. I was starting to get worried that I would never get to take my only daughter shopping for dresses.

Mal took the day "off" from school since we have seemed to lost our daughter to cheer she never has anytime for anything. We started out and went to lunch at Olive Garden (Yum) and then hit the mall. I think in the end she tried on at least 40 -50 dresses. {sidenote: Dresses are getting shorter and shorter and shoes Higher and Higher} She finally found the "One" she loved and we searched for shoes and finished with jewelry. It was tiring but fun and I enjoyed every minute of it. I love getting to spend the day with Malorie she is so grown up its hard to remember when she was little.

Here in AZ they don't ask in the fun ways they do in Utah. When I heard this I shared with Mal's friends the fun ways we (grown- ups) used to get asked. Mal's Boyfriend listened and decided to play along and got her some balloons with a very long string that she had to pull down from the sky and the note was attached. Mal said yes by getting Flounder the fish and some Swedish fish and put his name on the big fish and wrote "All the other fish" on the bag of little fishes and a poem that said "Of all the fishy's in the sea your the one I want to take me!"

Homecoming is next weekend so I will post pictures then.

Red Rock Relay

This last weekend Sept 10Th and 11Th I was in a relay race with 11 other people. It was a great experience and accomplishment for myself.
The relay was 186 miles from Brian head UT to Zions National Park. The runs were not easy but everyone did a great job getting through them. My runs totalled 17.5 miles. Each run had something about it that I got to experience a different feeling with each one. my first run I ran down a mountainside with a 8% grade the shoulder was next to nothing and cars whizz passed you. I felt nervous but also just happy that I was running down a mtn in Utah that never did I imagine myself doing. My 2Nd run was at 4:00A.M it was pitch black and my headlamp kept sliding down my face I was not as happy during this one every time a car came towards me I jumped into the grass even having a reflector and the headlamp I felt I might get clipped by a car any second. my team had to shadow right next to me so I could see the road. Then my 3rd run was really out there as I am headed up around the mountain the arrow tells me to go into the dirt and I start Hiking up the mountain(pictures will be coming soon) I almost thought it was a joke at first I kept looking waayyy down at my car until I had to go up around and then I was all by myself. I kept thinking Please no wild animals and then thoughts of meeting up with a helamonster and did you know if they bite you the only way to get them off is to cut off the head I was fresh out of knives at the time! Anyways after that I made it around the Mtn and it truly kicked my butt I felt defeated on my last run.
All in all it was great I am so proud of my friends Dana and Lee for doing so great. Lee was hurt and just kept moving along and Dana is always such an inspiration, her runs were very similar to mine and she kicked butt. The other car which is referred to as the Snow Car (we were the sun car) also had some amazing people in it and I was so excited to see Nanette and Alicia and Natalie. They are my original Boot Camp buddies from Utah.
I kept saying this is my LAST Relay race!! Well I lied not only am I doing another one, We are going to do the Moab Relay in May next spring. It is shorter 50 miles but we are going to be an Ultra team and instead of 6 people be a team of 3. Already getting excited!
Thanks team Chasing our tails, I had fun and laughed so hard my stomach still hurts.
I have a few pictures and will post more when I get some.
I included a piture of a Hela monster because they are real. Side story: Geno came up on one of these when he was out riding and thought about catching it!! When I told Dana she freaked and told me if it bites you then you have about 15 - 40 minutes to live.(Plus the thing with the bite)

Another just for fun: this is how steep the 1st run was for Dana and I.
On our way.

Always an Example

On Friday August 13Th one of my dearest friends gave birth to a little Angel. Cheri gave birth to a still born named Addison.

I want to write about this because I want to be able to always look back and remember what I witnessed that day at the service.

1st I want to describe my friend Cheri. Cheri is a strong woman who is always there when you need a friend. Just walking into the same room with her makes me happy she is filled with an amazing spirit. She is very funny as well always has something clever to say and makes me laugh all the time. She works at Malorie's High School and Mal loves going to see her. Malorie told me Cheri is an amazing person and one of the best people she knew (that's a lot coming from Mal)

Cheri has 5 other children who she is an amazing Mother too they are all Great kids, who are smart, have great manners and just nice kids. So I don't leave anyone out she is also married to a great guy.

The service was very beautiful. A couple of Ladies sang and the dedication given by Cheri's dad was very nice. The thing that impressed me the most is in this next story:

As the Family walked up they were all standing there waiting for the casket to be put down, I watched as Cheri's little 10 yr old Bryce started breaking down it was so heart wrenching to see this boy holding a stuffed animal he clearly had gotten for his new baby sister. The Family wasn't really noticing him but Cheri immediately noticed her child in need. Of course She herself was in so much pain she still had that Mothers sense and reached out for him at first she couldn't reach him and barely touched his shirt she slowly and very calmly reached again and grabbed him and pulled him to her to comfort him.
As I watched Cheri and the sadness in her eyes and thought of the heartache she was feeling. I watched a woman who through the entire service kept an eye on 5 other children. Never ignoring them cause she needed to grieve just doing what she does best, taking care of others. Even after when we waited to give our hugs and say our condolences she laughed and said her kind words to everyone and made others feel better.
What an Example Cheri is to me. With all she is going thru she is still such an amazing woman comforthing everyone else.
Cheri I love you and I am so blessed to have you as a friend. Thank you for letting me be part of that day. Thank you for your friendship, Thank you for how you treat my kids and Thank you for showing once again how strong you are and being an example of how we should all be.

15k

Over the 4th of July Geno, Malorie and I went to San Diego with my Best Friend Dana and her husband Lee. Dana and I ran in the Coronado 15k. It was a beautiful run and Dana and I were happy with our time. Dana has been my running partner for about a year now. I love running with her. Dana is such an inspiration to me sometimes I am just done running and will look over at her and there she is with her big happy smile it makes me giggle and keep on moving.

We had a great time that weekend very relaxed, we ran ate and got to hang out at the beach and shop in all the little stores (Mal's favorite part) Our next adventure is in September when we run the Red Rock Relay from Brianhead to St.George. Fun Fun!!
